Jean and Ed Becker
Jean Becker lived in a place with no Mensa group twenty-five years ago. She and a friend decided to start an area group in Ann Arbor, and the rest just kind of followed. Jean is the Chair of American Mensa and a member of the Executive Committee of Mensa International.
 
Ed Becker has been a leader in Mensa and other organizations for over twenty years. His positions in Mensa have included Treasurer and LocSec. He teaches for General Motors, the Engineering Society of Detroit, and Mensa.

Goals

After a presentation and group discussion, each participant will be able to:
  1. Explain the minimum standard Bylaws and the role of the Local Group's Bylaws in having business meetings.
  2. State the importance and timing of a prepared agenda.
  3. List the major parts of the agenda and how to prepare good agendas.
  4. Describe the settings conducive to good working meetings.
  5. Describe the role of the LocSec or Chair at business meetings.
  6. Discuss the roles of participants at business meetings.
  7. Discuss the value of and hints for good meeting minutes.
